With nearly two decades of experience as a mental health therapist specializing in perinatal mental health, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through the transformative experiences of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. In addition to my work as a therapist, I’ve also served as a doula, childbirth educator, and college professor. My passion for understanding and improving maternity care led to my dissertation research, where I explored the complexities of birth in America.
As one of the first in my state to earn certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, I’ve been deeply committed to my roles as an educator, activist, and provider for years, working to expand access to evidence-based maternity care and mental health services. I founded Meadowlark Clinic to create a space that offers compassionate, decolonized therapeutic support to individuals and families. Beyond serving our clients, I’m passionate about mentoring the next generation of therapists.
In my practice, I take an eclectic approach, incorporating EMDR, mindfulness, ACT, feminist, and narrative therapies to meet clients where they are. I have a special affinity for working with those who experience anxiety and aim to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journeys. I love collaborating with my community, especially when it involves supporting small, local, and minority-owned businesses. I am the author of Dear Mama, You Matter: Honest Talk about the Transition to Motherhood (2020) - available in paperback or audiobook format.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a human. Perhaps you are feeling isolated in new parenthood, unsure of yourself and feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Perhaps you are coping with trauma or a loss that has left you anxious, depressed, or just plain struggling to hold hope for the future. No matter the specific nature of your symptoms or the circumstances that have caused you to seek therapy, you understand that things aren’t working and something has to change. As a person-centered therapist, it is my goal to walk alongside you as you embark on a journey of discovery and increased self-awareness. Together we will examine your core beliefs, values, relationships, and patterns of behavior and explore how they are impacting your ability to reach your full potential, experience growth, and find joy in life. We will also use techniques to improve your ability to cope with stressors in your life and increase your resilience. I believe we are the sum of our experiences, both past and present, and this informs the lens through which we view the world. I aim to provide a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental space where you can take a deep breath and ask the big questions: Who am I? What do I want? and What is my purpose? If this resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out and connect so we can begin our work together.

The Meadowlark is native to the grasslands and prairies of the Middle and western United States. The bird builds their nest on the ground making it inherently vulnerable to risk. According to our friend and colleague Kara of Joyful Resonance Meadowlark's nature encourages us to ask how we can safeguard what is sacred to us. The bird serves as a metaphor for the experiences and journeys of those who are seeking support and healing during the perinatal period. The Meadowlark bird, through its characteristics and behavior, represents resilience, embracing life's challenges, and nurturing vulnerability.
The name "Meadowlark” captures these qualities and embodies the values of our clinic. It symbolizes resilience, the importance of prioritizing mental health, and the significance of providing a safe and supportive space for individuals during the perinatal journey.
